UPND PLOT TO USE VIOLENT WEAPONS TO DISRUPT PEACEFUL CAMPAIGNS UNEARTHED
Home Affairs Minister Hon. Stephen Kampyongo says the police is on high alert to foil any plan of the opposition United Party for National Development to cause confusion in Lukashya.
Hon. Kampyongo said the police had allowed the UPND to campaign peacefully in the constituency but that instead of going about their campaigns in a respectful manner, they decided to disrupt the Voter registration exercise which was going on in the area and caused damaged to very important equipment.
He said he was disappointed to get reports of how the UPND where making weapons to beat up people and produced evidence of the said weapon.
He instructed the police to ensure that the opposition UPND not succeed in their evil plan to disrupt the by elections.
Hon. Kampyongo took time to update the President of how some of the perpetrators of the said violence had already been picked and locked up by the police.
The Minister said this today during a rally to drum up support for PF Candidate for the forth coming Lukashya Parliamentary by elections, Mr George Chisanga at the Nkole Mfumu Secondary School grounds in Lukashya this afternoon.
