OPPOSITION United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has been condemned for exhibiting high levels of bitterness.

Yesterday President Edgar Lungu fired Health Minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya, calls the opposition leader has been demanding in recent weeks.

President Lungu replaced Dr Chilufya with Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection Minister Dr Jonas Chanda.

The Head of State also appointed nominated Member of Parliament Raphael Nakachinda as Dr Chanda’s replacement at the Ministry of Water Development.

But in his reaction to President Lungu’s firing of Dr Chilufya, the UPND leader reacted bitterly on his Facebook page, much to the displeasure of his sympthysizers.

He posted;

The sacking of Dr Chitalu Chilufya does not go far enough and comes in too little too late. Mr Edgar Lungu knew all along of Dr Chilufya’s corrupt expeditions at the Ministry of Health, but didn’t relieve him of his duties because it benefited him and the entire Patriotic Front.

He didn’t have to wait for the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee to unearth something that was so obvious. We therefore demand that the ACC immediately moves in on Dr Chitalu Chilufya. Mr. Lungu should go further and fire Stephen Kampyongo and Kakoma Kanganja who are equally culpable like Dr Chilufya, of deaths of innocent citizens. We demand justice for the Zambian people now!

However, Hichilema’s post has not gone well with mostly his supporters as it backfired with his sympthysizers castigating him for his bitterness.

The opposition leader’s supporters challenged their leader to learn to appreciate and give credit where it is due as opposed to be complaining about every decision President Lungu and PF makes.

Some of his sympthysizers have that said it would be difficulty to go back on the streets and tell their colleagues that their leader is still complaining over the sacking of Dr Chilufya despite him making such calls.
