Unruly UPND cadres this afternoon ran amok in Lusaka Central Business District after spotting PEP President Sean Tembo along Cairo road. The cadres who have been on a manhunt for Tembo following his departure from the opposition alliance ambushed the unsuspecting leader. Tembo’s executive Landover and an escort vehicle had their windows smashed in the violent attack.
Mr Tembo suffered deep cuts on the head and other injuries which left him bleeding intensively. The cadres are believed to be part of the group instructed by UPND leaders in particular Gilbert Liswaniso to get rid of call boys from bus stations and have since resorted to criminal activities.
Traders in Lusaka have vowed to sort out Liswaniso if he does not tame his youths.
By press time Mr Tembo was being rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
