Patriotic Front Media Director, Sunday Chanda has asked opposition United Party for National Development leader, Hakainde Hichilema to get off his high horse and assume his rightful position in the political arena, right next to Muliokela stating that Zambia has only one President and that is His Excellency Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu of the Patriotic Front.

And Chanda has said that violence and the UPND are synonymous as it is now abandantly clear that there is no separating one from the other stating that violence forms part of the UPND DNA.

He stated that the attempt at a repeat performance of the April 2017 Kalabo/Mongu events where Hichilema tried to race with the Presidential Motorcade, was a clear sign of attention seeking and an attempt to gain political mileage and sympathy which Chanda assured him, he had failed miserably.

“Hichilema was looking for a platform on which to project a false narrative of a lawless and ungovernable country. He was hoping to get arrested so that the international media could come and report on him. He is desperately trying to look for relevance. We can read his plot and won’t grant him his wishes, “Chanda said.

Mr Chanda reiterated President Lungu’s call for peace and assured the nation that the Presidents directive to his party the Patriotic Front membership not to engage in any acts of violence or succumb to provocation is being followed to the letter by all party members.

He stated that the bizzare bees and lightening incidences that had taken place in sesheke which had resulted in loss of life and property was extremely underhand and urged the UPND to keep bees for honey production and nothing else.

Mr Chanda was speaking at Crismar hotel in Lusaka this morning, during the Patriotic Front Interactive Forum which featured Zambia’s Finance Minister, Hon. Margaret Mwanakatwe MP. MCC.
