Sud SARL: Abdoulaye Boubou Thiam and Cheikh Ahmeth Touré appointed co-managers
The Sud Communication group is opening a new chapter. The Extraordinary General Meeting of Sud SARL appointed Abdoulaye Boubou Thiam and Cheikh Ahmeth Touré co-managers of the company, following the death of its statutory manager, Babacar Touré. The Synpics section of Sud Communication made this known in a press release.
Meeting on September 10, 2026 in the premises of Sud Quotidien, the meeting was chaired by Me Sonko, delegated judicial representative. The partners adopted the resolutions relating to “the recognition of the death of Babacar Touré, statutory manager of the company”, as well as the designation of the two new managers.
They also approved a modification of article 12 of the statutes, “in order to take into account the new configuration of management”. Sud SARL is the publishing company of Sud Quotidien and the majority shareholder of Sen Radio, which broadcasts Sud FM.
Restructuring and preserving the legacy
For the union, the challenge is now twofold. It is a question of “restructuring the company” while preserving “the professional and editorial heritage of Babacar Touré and his comrades, founding fathers of the group”.
The Synpics section sends its “warm congratulations” to the two co-managers. It affirms its “determination to work with the new co-managers” to meet the challenge of restructuring together, in accordance with the roadmap set by the General Assembly of Partners.
The press release also addresses thanks. The union expresses its “deep gratitude” to Vieux Savané and Ndiaga Sylla, for the sacrifices made in recent years to keep Sud SARL afloat, “in a particularly difficult national economic environment”.
Finally, he thanks the family of the late Babacar Touré as well as the elders of Sud Quotidien, whose “support” and “unfailing commitment” he salutes for the preservation of the group, which he describes as “a true national heritage of the media in Senegal”.
