Somalia: Plane breaks into pieces after crash landing (Video)

A civilian plane crashed on Tuesday on the runway of Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport, injuring one person, announced Somali Minister of Transport and Aviation Fardowsa Osman. The accident occurred when the aircraft operated by Halla Airline lost its front wheels upon landing, the minister said, noting that authorities are investigating the incident to determine the causes of the mechanical failure. .
According to the government official, apart from the injured person, all other passengers are safe, while emergency services responded quickly to provide medical assistance to those in need. Images posted on social networks show the Halla Airlines plane whose cockpit has partially detached and which is lying next to a concrete wall.
A total of 34 people, including crew members, were on board the plane, the SCAA said, noting that a preliminary report will be released upon completion of the ongoing investigation.
