In a new turn of events, Opposition National Democratic Congress –NDC- leader Chishimba Kambwili has u-turned on his reconciliation with President Edgar Lungu, which happened earlier yesterday.

The reconciliation was mediated by St. Ignatius Catholic Church Priest Father Charles Chilinda yesterday morning in front of a packed congregation during the memorial service of pf founder and former republican president Michael Sata who died on 28th October 2014.

But speaking to journalists after a private meeting which lasted close to 30 minutes with President Lungu, Father Chilinda and Former President Rupiah Banda, Mr. Kambwili said he was ambushed to the reconciliation move because he was not prepared for it as he was not told about it in advance.

Mr. Kambwili told reporters that unity is required but there are certain aspects that should have been considered.

He added that there are no differences to reconcile between him and the head of state and that the situation remains as it is as both him and the president are leading two different political parties.
