President Edgar Lungu Joins Pan Africans In Shunning The World Economic Forum In Xenophobic RSA.
President Edgar Lungu has quietly but effectively sent a strong word to South Africa.
Eagle One – Zambia has information that the President of the Republic of Zambia, Dr. Lungu, won’t attend the World Economic Forum and that the Minister of Commerce has been directed equally to priotitise other issues than being a tourist in RSA.
What has hurt Zambians is the fact that South Africa can stub a poor Zambian yet Zambia was bombed several times in the liberation struggle of South Africa. Much of our budget went towards the liberation movement, housing the Oliver Tambos, the Thabo Mbeki’s, the Zumas, etc.
Hundreds of University of Zambia students dressed mostly in black and chanting “No Violence” protested outside the South African High Commission on Wednesday.
And on Tuesday, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) called off the friendly soccer international against South Africa in Lusaka on Saturday, citing “prevailing security concerns in South Africa”.
