_Press Statement for Immediate Release_
*PLEASE PRESIDENT LUNGU FORGIVE MY HUSBAND PATRICK MUCHELEKA*
Dear President Lungu
First and foremost, I would like to render sincere apologies for having addressed this issue in public to you your Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
I know that this is not a right channel to communicate to you about such a matter but having exhausted all avenues to meet you and failing, I have without a choice opted to write a public letter hopping it may come to your attention.
Sir, I would like to let you know that Mr. Patrick Mucheleka , who is currently in police detention and co-accused in aggrevated robbery charge is my husband. Together we have children and they depend on him for both survival and as a father figure.
For some time now, I have had issues with the kind of politics that my husband has been engaging into, and specifically of agitation. As a family, we have always discussed and agreed that politics should not be about hate and violence.Particularly,I do not believe in some of the statements that my husband has issued which borders on division and disunity.
Mr. President, I have spoken to my husband about this issue and he is remorseful that he was implicated in the unfortunate incident that took place in Kasama.
As I write this letter, the incarceration of my husband has left us at home without anything to survive on because he is the person who provides for the family.Attempts to have any help from his leaders have not yielded any positive results.Sir, I would like to appeal to you Mr. President to intervene in this issue and help us because we have nowhere else to go for survival.
I will ensure that my husband apologise publicly for his actions and vow not to engage into such ever again.
Mrs. P. Mucheleka.
