THE Patriotic Front has adopted headman Zacks Mwachilele for the Katuba parliamentary by-election slated for July 30 2019. PF secretary-general Davies Mwila announced the development in Lusaka yesterday at a media briefing that the party received seven application letters for the Katuba parliamentary by-election.
Mr Mwila said Paul Moonga would be the campaign manager and deputised by Member of the Central Committee Jestone Mulando and Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe.
Mr Mwila has since called upon all the camps to come together and support the candidature of Mr Mwachilele as victory was certain in Katuba.
Mr Mwila announced that the Central Committee also received recommendations for all the local Government by-elections, adding that the party would participate with a view to win all of them.
He, however, said all party structures and members were under strict instructions to conduct the campaigns without any form of violence and intimidation but to focus on issues affecting the people.
No party cadres from outside would be ferried to Katuba Constituency he said.
He said the party was aware that the opposition has placed their cadres in strategic places in Katuba to cause violence against PF supporters.
And Mr Mwila said the Central Committee ratified President Edgar Lungu’s appointment of Kasama Central Member of Parliament Kelvin Sampa as a Member of the Central Committee and National Chairperson for Youth.
Further, the Central Committee has delinked security from Youth wing with immediate effect.
In this regard, Shi’wangandu Member of Parliament Stephen Kampyongo and Minister of Home Affairs becomes National Chairperson for Security.
