Ndola’s Restoration Apostolic Pentecostal Church leader Pastor James Mwale was yesterday caught in his car with a woman in a compromising position which suggested that he was having sex with. But the pastor denied anything sexual was taking place, claiming that he was conducting a deliverance session with the woman.
Mwale who is popularly known as Yakobo Yakobo attracted scores of Ndola residents wanting to have a glimpse of a witchdoctor-turned pastor who had parked his car outside the Ndola Teaching Hospital mortuary.
The incident which was captured on camera and has since gone viral showed residents wanting to manhandle Mwale.
And Police at Ndola’s Central Police have confirmed having remanded and questioned Mwale. But reports suggest that he is claiming that he was conducting a deliverance session before he was rudely interrupted by onlookers and passers-by.
Last year during the clean up exercise, then Copperbelt Minister Bowman Lusambo demolished some of Pastor Mwale’s make shift structures saying Government would not allow people to be kept in unsanitary conditions at a time when the country was grappling with the problem of cholera.
The church, built a few metres from the Kafubu river had been embroiled in legal battles with the Ndola City Council (NCC), a concern Lusambo raised with the owner.
Mwale who runs a deliverance Clinic in church agreed that the makeshift structures were illegal and insanitary but pleaded with the authorities to give him time to allow his patients find money to return to their respective homes.
