Former Lusaka mayor Mulenga Sata has declared interest to contest the mayoral election slated for 26th July 2018 after rejoining the ruling patriotic front from the opposition united party for national development.

Mr. Sata says he wants to reunite with the political party founded by his father late president Michael Sata as it is the only party what improved his political profile.

Speaking at media briefing in Lusaka this morning Mr. Sata feels he is better placed to take over the position of mayor which fell vacant after the demise of former Lusaka mayor Mr. Wilson Kalumba.

In the meantime Annie Mwawa who stood as an independent member of parliament for Kembe constituency in the previous general election has also reverted to the pf.

Meanwhile party secretary general Davis Mwila has welcomed the defectors.
