“I’m prepared to be led” – Kambwili
OPPOSITION National Democratic Congress (NDC) consultant Chishimba Kambwili says he is ready to be led by any other opposition leader in order to oust President Edgar Lungu and the Patriotic Front government, me as at now I am not ready to lead.
Speaking on Radio Phoenix Let the People Talk programme this morning, Kambwili called for unity of purpose among the opposition in order to stop what he termed, rampant corruption and theft by the ruling PF.
“may I also say today Me, I’m prepared to be led because if you want to lead tomorrow, you must be ready to be led today. If we unite as opposition, we go to the people and ask them, out of all of us who do you want to be president to remove Lungu, if they say its HH (Hakainde Hichilema), why should I refuse?” he asked.
“Me becoming president is not about me, if they say we want Mulongoti (People’s Party leader), why not?.
He called on Zambians to support the initiative of unity, “otherwise these ba kobolala, bapompwe will continue.”
Kambwili joins Mr Elias Chipimo of Narep to openly say they are ready to see HH becoming Republican President earlier than them because he is a “Unifier”….
He said the opposition were loosely discussing the question of unity, but it was important that this matter was resolved.
Kambwili said he was ready to die speaking on behalf of the people.
On the calls for the fuel reduction, Kambwili said government’s justification that they were still using old stock did not make sense because they increased prices whenever there was an increase on the international market.
He urged the Zambian government to take a leaf from the South African government which is effecting fuel reduction tomorrow due to the falling prices of the commodity on the international market.
