United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) leader Charles Chanda has revealed that the government through the Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) paid him K9,000 for six days to attend the controversial National Dialogue Forum (NDF).
Chanda, who withdrew his party membership from the NDF after describing it as a sham, has confirmed that the six days he attended the NDF was paid for.
He says he is very disappointed and disturbed with the response that Justice Minister Given Lubinda gave to the press that it was folly for him to insinuate that he was paid at NDF when in fact he was given K1,500 per day amounting to K9,000 for six days.
And Chanda has wondered where ZCID got the money to pay representatives on the list if not the government.
“Where did the ZCID get the money to pay people on the list? I am sure it’s government who paid us, its government who sponsored ZCID,” he said.
