FIFA has snubbed an attempt by FAZ president Andrew Kamanga and general secretary Adrian Kashala to ostricise Kalusha Bwalya ahead of the CAF elections.

In response to a letter signed by Kashala reporting Kalusha to FIFA for allegedly bringing the game into disrepute over his request for a nomination letter, FIFA advised FAZ to deal with the matter internally.

FAZ wrote the letter to FIFA on May 29, 2019, a few days before an aborted executive meeting that was to decide the nomination.

Kalusha had written to FAZ expressing his intention to recontest the position, but Kamanga also threw his hut in the race thereby creating a deadlock.

The standoff created an acrimonious debate that sports minister Moses Mawere attempted to quell but was unsuccessful.

Four FAZ executive committee have written CAF nominating Kalusha as the country’s candidate while the FAZ scretariat has nominated Kamanga.

CAF is expected to make a decision on the successful candidates soon.
