Faseg: Ucad ordered to pay 5 billion FCFA to three students excluded in 2016

The summary court ordered the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD) to pay 5 billion CFA francs to three former students of the Faculty of Management Sciences and Economics (FASEG), Aliou Gningue, Cheikh Tidiane Diop and Mamour Diongue. They were expelled from the establishment in 2016, following unrest on campus.

In December 2019, the three applicants obtained a judgment from the Supreme Court ordering their reinstatement under penalty of 10 million CFA francs per day of delay.

Contacted by the interested parties, the summary judge proceeded this Monday, September 28, to the provisional liquidation of the penalty for the period extending from June 17, 2022 to September 10, 2026, setting the amount owed by the university at 5 billion CFA francs. However, the court did not order immediate execution of its decision.
