Family security grants: allowances paid by the end of September

Payment of family security grants will take place by the end of September, announced the Minister of Family, Social Action and Solidarity, Marie Angélique Diouf. She spoke on the show “En Vérité” on Radio Sénégal.

According to the minister, this deadline responds to the instructions of the President of the Republic. The authorities are currently working on payment terms so that all beneficiaries can access benefits within the same time frame.

The number of beneficiary families has increased significantly following a recertification process. It increased from 355,013 in 2024 to 469,497 in 2026. At the same time, the envelope devoted to family security scholarships was increased from 35 to 70 billion CFA francs for this year.

Payments will be made through La Poste and mobile money operators, said Marie Angélique Diouf. For 2027, the minister announces a further increase in the envelope, which could reach 140 billion CFA francs, with the objective of further expanding the system to new households.

Asked about a possible increase in the amount received by each family, she indicated that the individual amount remains, for the moment, unchanged. However, a revaluation could be considered if conditions permit. The priority therefore remains the expansion of the system to more families, while continuing to mobilize the resources necessary to strengthen it.
