The minister notably mentioned the work on the Ngaye-Mékhé-Péssé axis, the progress rate of which reached 15%. According to him, the company in charge of the project received 1.7 billion FCfa as a start-up advance. “No project undertaken by the Ministry of Infrastructure is at a standstill. All projects are following their course,” he assured. Déthié Fall also took stock of health and school programs. The health infrastructure construction program provides for 100 health centers in three phases, plus five hospitals. In the education sector, an envelope of 62 billion FCfa was mobilized for the construction of 2,500 classrooms, 300 mini-drills, 300 hygiene blocks and 300 sanitary blocks. The work is in progress, he said. On the road component, the minister indicated that discussions are continuing with the Ministry of Finance to relaunch the 2,000 kilometers of roads program. He cited, among others, the Marsassoum-Bambaly and Bignona-Diouloulou axes, as well as 130 kilometers of roads planned in the north, particularly in Dandémayo, with the construction of 13 bridges. Furthermore, the urban modernization program carried out by Promovilles concerns 99 municipalities. A first phase covering 33 municipalities should be launched soon.
Returning to the adjustments made in the investment programs, Déthié Fall explained that certain resources had to be redirected towards other priorities. However, he reaffirmed the maintenance of the government’s ambitions in terms of infrastructure.
