Not long ago, we all watched in disbelief and disgust as one Lusaka cameraman went on his live feed and made some of the most obnoxious, sexist and disrespectful comments about women.
In his pursuit of fame, Chellah Tukuta used some of the most vile descriptions to refer to Dora Siliya and a couple of other women. It was a charade that will live in infamy and set precedence in our jurisprudence over social media libel laws when Tukuta’s case is concluded in the courts of law.
What is shocking is that a man who aspires for the highest office in the land, Hakainde Hichilema freely rolled out a red carpet for Tukuta into the UPND.
For those of you who take politics personal, agreed, you may not like Dora as a politician but before everything else, she is a woman and a mother. So when Tukuta undressed her dignity as a woman, he did so to the rest of the women in Zambia, including Mutinta Hichilema, HH’s wife.
Is HH so desperate he had to bring this ill-mannered boy close to take his pictures? what does this tell you about how HH and the UPND perceive women?
