CAN 2023 (Q): the list of Tanzania against Algeria

Tanzania’s national coach, Adel Amrouche, has published the list of players selected for the sixth day of the CAN 2023 qualifiers. A group of 25 Taifas Stars, with most playing in the local championship.

Next Thursday, September 7, Tanzania will meet Algeria in a decisive duel. This confrontation, part of the CAN 2023 qualifiers, represents the last opportunity for the Tanzanians to secure their ticket for the final phase of CAN 2023, scheduled for January 13 to February 11, 2024 in Ivory Coast.

To obtain the visa for the trip to Ivory Coast, the Taifa Stars must at least obtain a draw, because Uganda is close behind them. In the event of a defeat for Tanzania combined with a victory for Uganda against Niger, Adel Amrouche’s protégés could see their dream disappear. It is therefore a commando mission that awaits the Tanzanians in a few days.

And to achieve this, technician Adel Amrouche summoned a group of 25 Taifas Stars. This selection is essentially made up of players from the two clubs which have dominated the national scene for several seasons, namely Young Africans and Simba SC. However, a few elements operating outside national borders were called in as reinforcements, like captain Mbwana Samatta, who plays for PAOK FC, as well as Saimon Musuva from JS Kabylie.
