Business trips: the head of state left Abu Dhabi for Dakar

The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, left Abu Dhabi this Thursday, September 17, 2026 for Dakar, at the end of a five-day mission which took him to Washington then to the United Arab Emirates. The announcement was made by the Presidency of the Republic.

After a five-day mission to Washington then the United Arab Emirates, the head of state, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, will return to Dakar this Thursday, according to the presidency.

“In pictures, the interview he had the day before at the presidential palace with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. The Head of State verbally renewed the solidarity of the Senegalese people with the brotherly Emirati people in the current context of war in the Middle East, as well as his support for the peace initiatives carried out by Abu Dhabi,” reports the presidency.

According to our source, the Senegalese president thanked his Saudi counterpart for the constant attention paid to Senegal and for the directions chosen to finalize a new economic partnership between the two countries in finance, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, logistics and digital technology.

“From Washington to Abu Dhabi, the President of the Republic met in five days with the leaders of the IMF and the World Bank, American companies and the President of the Emirates, to consolidate the confidence of Senegal’s partners and open new financing and investment perspectives for the benefit of the Senegalese,” underlines the text.
