… this marks the beginning of great things to come for Chienge
Works to set up a salt processing plant in Chienge district have commenced.
BSBK, the company undertaking the project have arrived in Chienge with preliminary works already hitting high gear.
“We have arrived in Chienge and the people here are so warm – hearted. We are good to go,” said company Chief Executive Officer Pratyusi Kumah.
“We have so far done two borewells, we collect a few samples and carry those for further tests,”
This development follows numerous meetings, presentations and behind the scene interfacing between BSBK and Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa.
And Mr. Chilangwa has expressed happiness with the progress that BSBK are making on the project.
Mr. Chilangwa has since assured the investor of government’s support to ensure that the project is a success.
“Chienge is yearning for development. Chienge is hungry for development so for us this is so big and the district will not be the same,” said Mr. Chilangwa.
In 2017, shortly after Luapula Expo and Investment Conference, the project suffered a huge setback following the untimely death of company Chief Executive Officer while exploring for salt deposits.
Last week, Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa met company officials who made a huge update on the project.
