Adolescent health: First Lady Marie Khone Faye continues the “Building Resilience 2026” campaign
After a stop in Ziguinchor, the national “Building Resilience 2026” campaign made a stopover in Pikine-Guédiawaye. More than twenty students and around ten teachers participated in an awareness session on adolescent health, the prevention of early pregnancies and keeping young girls in school.
The First Lady of Senegal, Marie Khone Faye, continues the deployment of the national campaign BuildingResilience2026, focused on the health, education and development of adolescents and young people. In a publication posted on her Facebook page, she announced that a new training session was held in the premises of the Pikine-Guédiawaye Academy Inspection, after a first stage organized in Ziguinchor.
This meeting brought together more than twenty students and around ten teachers around several priority themes, including the prevention of early pregnancies, keeping young girls in school and the adoption of responsible behavior.
According to Marie Khone Faye, the campaign intends to act “closer to young people and the actors who support them”. The objective is to strengthen the capacities of students, teachers and educational communities in order to create an environment more favorable to the health and academic success of adolescents.
The First Lady also indicated that this dynamic will gradually be extended to other regions of Senegal, with the desire to better inform young people and to further involve the adults responsible for their supervision. This initiative takes place in a context where the issues of adolescent reproductive health, prevention of early pregnancies and retention of girls in the education system remain important issues for public policies.
Through Building Resilience 2026, Marie Khone Faye highlights an approach based on awareness, dialogue and support for young people, with a view to contributing to their well-being, education and personal development. The campaign should continue in the coming weeks in several regions of the country, with the ambition of making the school a space for protection, listening and promoting the health of adolescents and young people.
