PM Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô on RFI: “I tell the Senegalese that hope is there”
Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô reassures the Senegalese about the country’s economic situation. In an interview with RFI, he affirmed that “hope is there” and that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will program Senegal’s file, if the residual elements are provided.
“I tell the Senegalese that hope is there. What we expect from mid-November, and because the International Monetary Fund will program the Senegal file, if the residual elements are provided, is that it will unlock in another way,” he said.
“Not the scale of the funds that the Monetary Fund will give us, but above all it is this expectation that many foreign investors had, many national private investors who were unable to recover their debts,” he added.

According to the Prime Minister, “a new Senegal” is before the Senegalese, but really before them, for the extremely near future, from the month of November. This, provided that they can surpass themselves in this critical decision-making moment on the Amending Finance Law (LFR).
“We are going to have both support from the International Monetary Fund, budgetary support from the World Bank and other donors who are towards us, and this will allow us to trigger a dynamic which will allow us to have a very promising end to the year, a year 2027 which will be bright,” he said.
