PLFR 2026: Arbitrations explained by the government this Sunday
The Prime Minister, Ahmadou Alhaminou Mohamed Lô, will hold a press conference this Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 4 p.m., at the President Mamadou Dia Administrative Building, after the rejection of the amended finance bill (PLFR) 2026 by the Finance and Budgetary Control Committee of the National Assembly.
Examination of the text began on Tuesday, October 20. The deputies notably questioned the Government on “revenue forecasts, budgetary decisions, the programming of public investments as well as subsidies for energy consumption”, indicates a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The work, suspended to allow the Executive to respond to the concerns of parliamentarians, resumed on Friday October 23 with the presentation of a memorandum of responses. Despite these clarifications, the Commission rejected the bill, underlines the same source.
This press conference will be an opportunity for the Government to present “the economic and financial analyzes underlying the PLFR 2026” and to explain the budgetary orientations adopted. According to the Prime Minister, the implementation of the project aims to “improve the quality of life of the Senegalese”.
The government of Senegal reaffirms “its commitment to institutional dialogue, transparency in the management of public finances and information to citizens,” notes the press release.
