Cinema: the Chinese Film Festival scheduled for October 23 to 24 in Dakar

The Senegalese capital is home to the Chinese Film Festival on October 23 and 24. An opportunity for the two peoples to understand each other and resonate together through the big screen, according to the Chinese ambassador to Senegal, Li Zhigang.

On October 23 and 24, the National Film Administration of China and the Chinese Embassy in Senegal are co-organizing the 2026 Senegal Chinese Film Festival. The announcement was made on Wednesday by Chinese Ambassador to Senegal, Li Zhigang.

“From desert adventures to the ancient capital Chang’an, from the heroic rescue with Jackie Chan to the cartoon ”The Boonie Bears”, seven Chinese films of various genres will follow one another on the screen. Among them, ”Love letters from my grandmother”, just like the Senegalese classic ”Such a long letter”, entrusts people’s destinies and emotions to correspondence,’ he wrote on his X account.

Thus, beyond cinema enthusiasts, Mr. Li believes that these two days of festival will allow the two peoples to understand each other and resonate together through the big screen. And this will be an opportunity for Sino-Senegalese friendship to take root more deeply in hearts.
