Golf Sud: the ASP strengthens the fight against delinquency

The Local Security Assistance Agency (ASP) presented, on Tuesday October 13, 2026, the results of the local security diagnosis of the municipality of Golf Sud. This study aims to better understand the phenomena of delinquency and to define measures adapted to the realities on the ground.

Chaired by the sub-prefect of the Sam-Notaire district, Mamadou Diouf, the workshop is a continuation of the installation, in June 2025, of the Departmental Committee for the Prevention and Fight against Delinquency by the ASP.

The results of the diagnosis highlight several security issues, including theft, the sale and consumption of drugs, domestic violence, scams and inadequacies linked to public lighting.

The meeting recorded the participation of the Director General of the ASP, Oumar Touré, the Director of Local Security Governance, Chief Commissioner Khadidiatou Sall, the Mayor of Golf Sud, Khadija Mahecor Diouf, as well as administrative authorities, the Defense and Security Forces and community stakeholders.

On this occasion, the mayor of Golf Sud welcomed the choice made to his municipality for carrying out this study. She announced the establishment of security measures in the different neighborhoods, in collaboration with the ASP and community stakeholders, in accordance with the guidelines of the action plan resulting from the diagnosis.

For his part, the general director of the ASP indicated that this study responds to a request from the municipality, wishing to integrate the “Safe Neighborhood” program, already deployed in certain districts of Dakar. He specified that the objective is to formulate recommendations allowing the authorities to take appropriate preventive measures.

Oumar Touré also recalled the role of the ASP in the implementation of local security contracts (CLS), including that of Golf Sud, initiated last year. The challenge now is to make this system fully operational with the participation of all local stakeholders.

Sub-prefect Mamadou Diouf, for his part, welcomed this initiative, considering that the operationalization of local committees for the prevention and fight against delinquency constitutes an important step forward for the municipality. He insisted on the need to make the future action plan a real tool serving the security of the population.

The next stage will focus on the development, under administrative authority, of a local action plan for the prevention and fight against the different forms of delinquency in Golf Sud.
