Bignona: a shopkeeper arrested for alleged acts of repeated rape of minors
On October 15, 2026, the Bignona Urban Police Station arrested an individual suspected of unnatural acts, repeated rape of minors and pedophilia. Five alleged victims, all minors, have been identified at this stage of the investigation, according to the National Police.
The case follows the exploitation, on October 12, 2026, of operational intelligence reporting alleged acts of sexual assault on a 17-year-old minor, allegedly committed by a shopkeeper established in Tenghori.
Investigations carried out by elements of the police station then revealed suspicions that the suspect had attracted young boys to his business by offering them material goods and foodstuffs, with the presumed aim of obtaining sexual relations.
A trip to the site was made as part of the investigations. Heard in the presence of her guardian, the first alleged victim declared that the suspect had offered her an iPhone XR brand cell phone before forcing her to have sexual relations with him.
According to his testimony, the events occurred three times in the accused’s room. The minor also indicated that he had left his electronic tablet on in the suspect’s anteroom. The device was found during the police intervention.
After notification of his right to a lawyer, the suspect was arrested and taken to the police station for the purposes of the investigation. At this stage of the procedure, five alleged victims, all minors, have been identified, according to information communicated by the National Police.
