Mbacké: the DER/FJ promises support for people with disabilities
The General Delegate for Rapid Entrepreneurship for Women and Young People (DER/FJ), Dr Abdoulaye Niane, reaffirmed his structure’s commitment to supporting people with disabilities in their entrepreneurial initiatives. He believes that this segment of the population, which represents 10% of Senegalese people, must not be left on the margins of public policies. He spoke on Saturday September 26, 2026, on the sidelines of a meeting with people with disabilities from the Mbacké department.
Gathered within a departmental committee which says it supports the vision of the Head of State, these people discussed with the General Delegate of the DER/FJ the support possibilities offered to them. On this occasion, Dr Abdoulaye Niane insisted on the need to take greater account of their needs in economic and social inclusion policies.
In this context, he promised the support of the DER/FJ through training and project financing. He invited people with disabilities to contact the departmental branch of the structure in order to benefit from the measures put in place for them.
The General Delegate also clarified that the funding granted to people living with disabilities is not subject to interest. To facilitate their access to these mechanisms, he encouraged them to come together within GIEs or groups and to submit their projects to the competent services. “The DER/FJ will be at your side to help you have the best conditions to undertake and create employment like any Senegalese,” declared Dr Abdoulaye Niane.
For the General Delegate, supporting this segment of the population must contribute to strengthening their economic empowerment and their participation in the country’s development.
Finally, Dr Abdoulaye Niane praised the mobilization of people with disabilities in the Mbacké department and their commitment to the vision of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
