Departmental phases 2026: the town hall subsidizes the Asc de Bignona
Ascs qualified for the 2026 departmental phases benefit from a subsidy in kind from the municipality of Bignona. This is, according to Mayor Bacary Diatta, to help them bear the costs relating to regrouping for the departmental phases which cost them enormously.
“Since 2022, we have been supporting these Ascs so that they can represent us at the level of the different departmental or zonal phases,” declared Bacary Diatta on Sunday at the donation ceremony in the premises of the Bignona town hall.
On this occasion, the mayor of Bignona launched a message of fair play to all the Ascs in the municipality. “We recommend that all these Asc behave well during these phases. We would like the cup to come to Bignona but we recommend that they play fair and come back to us safe,” said the local elected official. He also urges the Ascs to leave behind a good address wherever they are welcomed.
When it comes to competition, there is always a winner and a loser. But whatever the conditions, Mr. Diatta would like fair play to be the norm and for the Asc to play in discipline and enter in good conditions. “We ask for discipline from all the teams who will leave Bignona to go to these departmental phases,” he said.
Eight to nine Ascs must represent the municipality at the departmental level, all organizations combined.
