Gënji Hip Hop launches its 2026-2030 Strategic Plan August 27, 2026
The Gënji Hip Hop association, bringing together women artists, activists and feminists from the cultural and creative industries (ICC) in Senegal, intends to strengthen its structure and define new directions for the coming years.
Meeting on Tuesday, August 18, the meeting made it possible to define the main axes of the 2026-2030 Strategic Plan according to a press release received by Soleil Digital. The plan includes clarifying the identity of Gënji Hip Hop, defining its objectives and its vision for 2030, while reaffirming the group’s values.
As part of its activities, Gënji Hip Hop also announces the holding of its first official event on September 5, 2026. It will be a barter, presented in the press release as a “customary activity of the association”.
As a reminder, Gënji Hip-Hop is a committed Senegalese association, founded in 2017, which brings together more than 70 women artists, rappers, DJs, graffiti artists and urban culture activists.
This art-activism collective actively works to break gender stereotypes in a musical environment historically dominated by men. Through their texts and performances, these artists fight for women’s rights, denounce gender-based violence and promote female empowerment in Senegal.
Beyond the stage, the association uses hip-hop culture as a social impact tool to address crucial topics such as mental health, civic leadership and political engagement of young women.
