National Assembly: extraordinary session convened for August 10

The National Assembly of Senegal will hold its first extraordinary session of the year 2026 this Monday, August 10 at 10 a.m., according to an official press release published on August 8 by the Office of the institution, chaired by Ousmane Sonko.

The particularly dense agenda provides for the examination of several major texts, including the proposed law amending Article 37 of the Constitution on the declaration of assets of the President of the Republic, as well as a text governing special credits and secret funds.

MPs must also vote on the creation of several parliamentary commissions of inquiry, notably on land management, transfers of public buildings and the “One student, one computer” program.

In accordance with the internal regulations, this session will be automatically closed as soon as its agenda is exhausted.
