Two UPND councillors in North Western Province have ditched the opposition political party to join the ruling Patriotic Front.
The two are Goodson Kapaku of Mwininyilamba Ward in Ikelengi District and Maybin Kambuta of Lunyiwe Ward in Kabompo.
Kapaku, in his letter dated 15th June, 2020 addressed to the Ikelengi Council Chairperson, said he has decided to resign because the party that sponsored him previously has made it difficult for him to work.
He said has decided to leave the opposition political party to also focus on other private business activities among them pineapple growing.
Meanwhile, Kambuta said he has left the UPND because the opposition political party allegedly has no capacity to provide development.
He announced his resignation in a letter dated 15th June, 2020 addressed to the Kabompo town Chairperson.
The two join the list of other Councillors from the UPND who have switched to the Patriotic Front since 2016.
