…And Forecast To Grow Above Sub-Saharan Africa
ZAMBIA forecast to grow above sub-Saharan Africa between 2017 and 2021 as the country’s power situation improves.
According to Analyse Africa Zambia report 2017, a macroeconomic data and trends report, Zambia’s 2017 GDP is forecast to total $20.9 billion.
The report which is based on data extracted from the Analyse Africa database, a service from the financial times report released May 2017 has also ranked Zambia as one of the most political stable countries in Africa.
“According to the World Bank, Zambia ranks third best in East Africa and 7th in Africa in terms of political stability, absence of violence and terrorism,” the report states.
The report goes on to commend Zambia’s 2016 elections as being peaceful, transparent, credible, free and fair quoting credible voices such as those of United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.
The report which was done in consultation with United Nation bodies, The Central Intelligence Agency and various World Organisation bodies have also applauded the Zambian government for visible increased investment in its infrastracture network.
They state that this infrastructure network will further boost economic growth in Zambia.
The AA-Zambia report has commended projects such as the Link Zambia 8000 and $2.3 billion railway project connecting Zambia to Malawi as economic boosters for the nation.
