“Later today, I will be inspecting progress being made during the emergency cleanup cholera operations.”
Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Mr Amos Chanda has revealed that President Edgar Lungu attended a private mass at Divine Mercy Parish this Morning.
Mr Chanda stated that in his brief address to the Congregation, President Lungu urged the Church to pray for everyone and more especially the Politicians.
” I came to fellowship with you this morning. And because ive been requested to deliver a special messege, all I want to say is that as a church, you must pray for all of us especially the Politicians.” He said.
And the President stated that Politicians were mainly responsible whenever there was tension in the nation and tasked the church to provide counsel to Political players both in Public and in Private.
” As you pray for government, make sure you pray for opposition as well, as we in politics are the ones mainly responsible for the tension in our country. Give us counsel both in private and in public and help us come to genuine national dialogue. We must always put the interest of the Country first and ours second. All I can say in conclusion is that we must always put God first.” He said.
Meanwhile, President Edgar Lungu has appealed to all Lusaka residents and traders in the Cholera affected areas to fully cooperate with the Ministry of Health and the Security Wings who have been deployed to do a thorough cleanup exercise of the City.
The President said this in an interview after attending Church Service at Divine Mercy Parish in Lusaka this morning.
And the President expressed great sympathy for the traders whose businesses would experience a temporal set back due to the cleanup exercise.
” My Heart goes out to those who earn their living from selling. These are our People. These are our supporters. Please cooperate with the Ministry and the security wings. I will later today, be inspecting progress being made during these emergency operations.” Said the President .
